Canvas is an online platform designed to help you excel in your studies. It's like a digital classroom where you can access your courses, submit assignments, take quizzes, and communicate with your teachers and classmates. It's easy to use and can be accessed from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. So, whether you're at home or on the go, Canvas is there to support your learning journey.
Requirements to Succeed
- A 7-digit Chaminade ID (CID)
- Your Portal password
- Initial Default Portal Password
- Format - CHAMINADE [last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) or your Date of Birth mmddyy format]
- Example (Last 4-digits of SSN = 6789 or Date of Birth = 01/01/2000) - CHAMINADE6789 or CHAMINADE010100
Instructions
- Navigate to chaminade.edu
- Click "STUDENT" at the top of the site
- Click "Canvas Leaning Management System"
- Enter your 7-digit Chaminade ID (CID) and your default or Chaminade Portal password, then click "Login"
- Welcome to Canvas (*Screen content varies on constituency)
Frequently encountered problems
Error message: "The password you entered was incorrect." (click to expand)
- It's possible that you've already updated your password in the Portal. Canvas and Self-Service both use the same password as the Portal.
- If you haven't already, please try CHAMINADE followed by your Date of Birth in the format MMDDYY. For example, if your Date of Birth was January 1, 2000, your default password would be CHAMINADE010100
- Double-check that your 7-digit Chaminade ID (CID) using the "Forgot your 7 Digit CID?" link.
- If you're unable to retrieve your Chaminade ID, please contact the Records department to ensure your information is accurately recorded in our system. You can reach them at records@chaminade.edu or by calling (808) 735-4815.
